Overview
Cottonwood County, MN has not adopted the MN State Building Code.
§ 8 (Permits) of Cottonwood County MN Zoning Ordinance #28 requires a building setback permit be applied for a building or part thereof which is erected, expanded or relocated within the county.
§ 9 (Non-conforming uses) Subdivision 2. Non-Conforming Building and Uses) also requires existing buildings or structures currently in use but not in conformity with the ordinance, be discontinued within a reasonable period of time. Exceptions would be granted by the issuance of a conditional use permit only.
